I did not leave my old notes app over a missing feature. I left because the price kept climbing, the app kept sprouting things I had never asked for, getting my own writing back out was made deliberately awkward, and searching it on my phone — the place I actually needed it — was the worst part of the whole experience.

So the app I built is shaped by those four complaints, in that order. It is $34.99 once if you want the paid tier, and nothing at all for your first 100 notes. It does a small number of things on purpose. Export to ENEX, Markdown or HTML is free on every plan, including the free one, because an app that makes leaving difficult has already told you what it thinks of you. And the search reads the text inside your photos and PDFs on the phone itself, so a picture of a whiteboard is findable by what is written on it.

There is no AI in it. Nothing summarises your notes, nothing chats with them, nothing gets shipped off to be processed.

I want to be straight about that last part, because it is not what everybody wants. Read the threads where people compare these apps and the room splits — plenty of people genuinely want an assistant that organises everything for them, and some will not consider an app that lacks one. That is a reasonable position, and this is not the app for it. What comes up over and over instead is the other three: the subscriptions, the lock-in, and search that gives up the moment you are holding a phone.

It is a small app, built by one person, and right now it is iPhone and iPad with Android still in review. But if those three are your three — that is the one I made.
